Casamas is found in the heart of Monopoli’s historical center about 50 meters from the local Porta Vecchia beach.

The apartment consists of a large living room with a kitchen and a sofabed for two, a bedroom, and a bathroom with shower. This cozy apartment contains vintage and functional yet simple furnishings in the industrial style.

It has a partially covered veranda with exceptional views of the sea. You can bask in the sun with lounge chairs and umbrellas as well as enjoy a perfect breakfast with a view.

Casamas is situated on the second floor of an authentic building in Monopoli’s historic center. Please note the use of stairs for those with conditions. We recommend this structure for a couple or a small family in search of an authentic Puglian vacation. One where you can enjoy living in a historic town by the sea and watch the sunset and the moonlit seas from your veranda.

Casamas – About the area
Puglia is a wonderful area to consider. It offers at least one excellent archeological museum, a host of cathedrals dating back to the 10th century, Greek and Roman ruins, a gleaming necklace of lively fishing villages, one of Europe’s largest forests, a chain of medieval hilltowns, and some of the very cleanest beaches and water in the Mediterranean.

Monopoli is a very nice town on the sea, famous, apart for its beaches and clean waters, also for its baroque churches.
What to see:

- CATHEDRAL – it is one of the most attractive examples of Baroque in the entire Apulian region. Its imposing monumental front is flanked on the left by an elegant bell tower that has markedly projecting cornices separating its floors. Notable is the Byzantine icon portraying the Madonna della Madia – legend tells that the sacred image was washed up from the sea on a stack of trunks, that were then used for the building of the trussed roof – very well-preserved and of fine workmanship, it dates from 1280.

- SANTA MARIA DEGLI AMALFITANI – a Romanesque building erected at the beginning of the twelfth century on a pre-existing rock settlement.

- ABBEY OF SANTO STEFANO a fortified complex built in 1086, the remains of an old church survive in the inner courtyard, still inside there are the visible remains of the Roman settlement of Turris Paola, one of the landing places for nearby Egnazia.

- CASTLE bounded on three sides by the sea and protected on the fourth by a moat that no longer exists, it was used as a prison until the beginning of the twentieth century, the castle has been recently restored and today houses the Municipal Archaeological Museum on its first floor.

- PURGATORIO CHURCH with images of skeletons on its doors. Inside you will find familiar Baroque interior but on the adjusting chapel you will find mummies of some local citizens. If the church is closed then you can watch some of the mummies through the street window.

- PALAZZO PALMIERI central square of the Centro Storico.

- MADONNA DEL SOCCORSO CHURCH old grotto with frescoes was dug out of a natural cavity in the rock.

THE COUNTRY

It consists of 99 districts (contrade) characterized by the presence of Masserie Fortificate of ancient roman origin, Rupestrian Churches, neo-classic villas and houses.
The outstanding landscape consists of almond and olive trees, apart from fruit trees of all sort and vegetables cultivation.

Trullo Fiore di Mare is an enchanting historic holiday home with a private access to the beach.
Trullo Fiore di Mare is an ancient building whose origin was lost in the midst of time. Its existence is documented and depicted in the 800s by a french writer A.L. Castellan in his book “Lettres sur l’Italie.”
The Trullo has been meticulously restored conserving its historic details. The successful renovation of Trullo Fiore di Mare allows us to appreciate one of the last remaining examples of a two story Trullo in the region of Puglia.
The trullo’s location is like no other. The property overlooks the beach of “Ponte Lama”. This beach is famous for its indigenous white pebbles. The lawn and colourful garden surrounding the Trullo contains a variety of well maintained plant and flower species. The furniture selection and layout reflects the modern minimalistic style so as to accentuate the original features of the Trullo.
Trullo Fiore di Mare contains the following:
- The main Trullo with a large living area on the first floor. This air conditioned space has an original rock formation as part of its wall. It is featured by built in light fixtures. There are two comfortable sofa beds available for use;
- There is an inviting lounge area with TV as well under this rock formation.
- Carved out from a pre-existing grotto, the large dining area is next to the fully-equipped kitchen. The kitchen has beautiful hand made ceramics to add on to its charm.
- A double bedroom with a private bathroom and air conditioning;
- A beautiful large bathroom with a shower built into the existing rock formation;
On the second level there are two bedrooms. One bedroom is complete with air conditioning, private bath, private entrance and terrace. The second bedroom is a suite with its own bath.

External area:
- A spacious patio with pergola overlooking the sea. There are beautiful vines covering this area. There is also a shaded hammock area where you can find a moment of relaxation. There are also a few chairs and a large hand-crafted wooden table for 6 / 8 guests to enjoy your meals;
- A sun deck overlooking the sea equipped with beds and chairs;
- Large green area with lawn, trees and Mediterranean plants, chairs, benches and shaded areas for parking.
- Panoramic terrace of more than 200 square meters located at the top level of the different terrace levels with lawn and flowers. It has beautiful views of the crystal blue waters of “Ponte Lama” beach and the Gargano peninsula. This home is strategically located and is perfect for the ideal Puglian vacation.

About the area
Puglia is a wonderful area to consider. It offers at least one excellent archeological museum, a host of cathedrals dating back to the 10th century, Greek and Roman ruins, a gleaming necklace of lively fishing villages, one of Europe’s largest forests, a chain of medieval hillside towns, and some of the more pristine beaches and crystal blue waters in the Mediterranean.
Trani is a port of Apulia in southern Italy located on the Adriatic Sea in the new Province of Barletta-Andria-Trani (as of June 2009). It is 40 km by railway West-Northwest of Bari.

Trani has lost its old city walls and bastions, but the 13th-century fort has been extensively restored as a museum and performance venue and is open to the public. Some of the streets in and around the Ghetto area remain much as they were in the medieval period, and many of the houses display more or less of Norman decoration.
The main monument of Trani is the Cathedral, dedicated to St. Nicholas the Pilgrim, a Greek who died in Trani in 1094 while on his way on pilgrimage to Rome, and some years later canonized by Urban II. It lies on a raised open site near the sea, and was consecrated, before its completion, in 1143.

Terrazza Dolce Vita – About the area

Puglia is a wonderful area to consider. It offers at least one excellent archeological museum, a host of cathedrals dating back to the 10th century, Greek and Roman ruins, a gleaming necklace of lively fishing villages, one of Europe's largest forests, a chain of medieval hilltowns, and some of the very cleanest beaches and water in the Mediterranean.

Polignano a Mare overlooks the sea with houses from high up on the rocks. The buildings are all whitewashed, there is a stunning cathedral. The numerous caves in Polignano al Mare were formed from the rough sea waves that molded the rock. Some of the caves are deep enough to reach the center of the town

What to see:

- Chiesa Matrice, consacrated in 1295, with a massive, quadrangular bell tower. The 16th century Renaissance style prevails inside the church, but the presbytery is Baroque.

- S. Vitos Abbey, with a sixteenth-century loggia, a large courtyard and a medieval watch-tower.

- Palazzese Grotto can be reached from the sea and from land, via a staircase inside the famous restaurant of the same name.
