Diving
We give you the possibility to know the marvellous Polignano’s coast and the wrecks present in the Polignano’s district…and to make divings in these wonderful sea beds, always assuring maximum safety and the possibility to fulfil every need of the client.
Devotees of scuba diving are offered divings to see wrecks, grottoes and shallows. We make ARA, NITROX and TRIMIX recharges and we offer services such as gear diving hire and sale, customer care, repair and oxygen tanks test.
ANIS/TDI/PHOTOSUB School offers both recreational and technical courses during all the year. The Centre has a gear rinse area, toilets and showers. The Centro Tecnico della Subacquea (Diving Technical Centre) is also a sport, sea and swimming pool clothes shop.
Diving possibilities are varied both for beginners and professionals:
Torre Incine marks the beginning of the Polignano a Mare territory, characteristic creek of fishermen and destination of many scuba divers. At a depth of 14 metres, near the exit of the creek, we find a Madonna put there by a club of diving devotees.
Grotta dei Colombi (Pigeons Grotto) the collapse of the vault’s central part created a natural arch giving, in this way, the possibility to speleo-scuba diving devotees to join these two activities.
Portalga in this little
inlet there is a wonderful submerged world with Axinellae, Gorgonacea and Hippocampus at a depth of 20 metres.
Isolotto S.Paolo (S.Paolo oxbow) better known as “Scoglio dell’Eremita” (“Hermit’s Rock”), at the top of which there are the ruins of a chapel dedicated to S. Antonio Abbate (1612) and used as a lazaret during 1837. The four sides of the oxbow give the possibility of various divings up to the depth of 25 metres.
A submarine passage exists near Bastione S. Stefano (S. Stefano Bastion)
ending to Lama Monachile where there was the ancient port (Cala Porto), while the bridge built by King Murat (beginning of XIX century) overlooks the inlet.
Cala Paura characteristic natural inlet, destination of many divers, because it is easily reachable; at 12 metres there is a little grotto, where it is easy to pass through.
Grotta di Cala Corvino (Cala Corvino Grotto) with a depth from 17 metres and 30 metres.
Secca di Torre dell’Orto (Torre dell’Orto Shallows) thanks to its extent, you can make at least 6 divings in always different points at depths which vary from 17 to 40 metres.
Relitto di Torre Canne (Torre Canne Relict) at a depth of 39 metres lies a Turkish ship sunk in 1993 probably because of its excessive weight (it carried steel cables). Still in perfect navigation’s condition, it gives an unforgettable background to divers.
